Community Space and Cook Up

Community Space gathers on Friday mornings in St Petroc’s Parish Centre, Priory Road, Bodmin, where busy volunteers serve complimentary hot drinks and cakes for everyone to enjoy.

Initially established as a Warm Space in October 2022, the weekly gathering has consistently drawn a following for food and friendship. The committed volunteers cook week after week to provide wholesome food for eating in and taking out.

Recognising some of the needs and opportunities that Community Space provides, social support agencies attend the sessions and provide support. These include Energy Plus, Council Representatives, an NHS homeless initiative and the Grace Project based in Wadebridge.

Bodmin Way's Parish Nurse Geraldine Ashton also attends every week and is available for private consultations.

Community Cook Up has been running since October 2023, with Beth Woolley, intoBodmin’s hospitality lead. Revd Elaine continues to host a monthly cooking session to encourage people who want to learn more about the art of cooking.

It meets on Wednesdays once a month at 12.30pm to 2.30pm in St Petroc’s Parish Centre.

Cook Up is scheduled for 14 February, 13 March, 10 April, 15 May, 12 June, 10 July and 14 August.

Both these fun and friendly gatherings are run by Revd Elaine Munday with the support of volunteers and are open to everyone. For more information contact Revd Elaine facebook.com or elaine.munday@bodminway.org.
