Time Together was entertained recently by Wadebridge Male Voice Choir. One person present at the performance said: ”We were blown away with the magic of it all and we anticipate a similar experience as we listen to Liskeard Community Choir.”
The sensational selection of songs are: The Wellerman, Cantar, Under Pressure, A Million Dreams, You Raise Me Up, Fields of Gold, Oh the Places I Go, Water is Wider, Instrument of Peace, Noah Found Ground and Any Dream will Do.
Cantar, Spanish for ‘to sing’, was sung in Spanish and English whilst the conductor, Gareth Stubberfield, clapped Flamenco style!
Time Together, the weekly Wednesday friendship group, meets in Shire House Suite, Priory Park, from 10.30am to 1.30pm, for crafts, quizzes, games and entertainment. There’s hot drinks, cakes and light lunches available as well as the chance to buy hand-crafted cards.
A community choir even closer to home is Bodmin Way Community Choir, which is poised to sing its summer selection of songs from 14 June for seven Wednesdays in a row, with a performance at Bodmin Town’s market on Saturday 29th July, followed by a picnic in the park. All ages and abilities are welcome to come along to as many sessions as their time allows. For more details please visit bodminway.org/choir.
