Enterprising SPY Network offered those attending the Coronation Cream Tea in St. Petroc’s Church the chance to buy a keepsake of the coronation.
Inspiration behind the sales came when Mike, church member, transformed champagne corks into heads of the King’s Guards. Bodmin Keep hosted workshops on how to make soldiers from pegs and soldier bookmarks. SPY Network attended a workshop at the Keep and created several peg soldiers following on from the training.
Debby, a SPY Network helper, made lots of fabulous bookmarks from lollipop sticks. Mike added his own creative take by making soldiers out of wooden forks. The coronation crowns knitted by Mike were snatched up like hot cakes.
Due to the generosity of those at the cream tea, SPY Network raised just over £17 towards their funds.
